Fairytale

It is really hard
to draw a line between fantasy and reality
when I keep daydreaming.
This line is always too blurred
because I keep seeing dreams in the real world.

Took this one on the way to the shoot with Sahar. Looked like a scene from a fairytale to me.

Taken in RAW, and oversaturated.

new toys!

just a little update for the end of summer. i really did not do anything very interesting with my beloved camera, but i did buy some new gear for it! behold:

E-1, SHLD-2 (Battery/Vertical Grip), and FL-36 (Flash)

i shall say, these 2 new items work like a charm! the battery allows me to hold the camera in portrait (sideways) mode much easier, and the flash gives me very contollable lighting.

here's a sample picture that i took with the flash.

i just fixed the colouring in photoshop, other than that, no photomanipulation. this came fresh from the camera! =D this fan is the third review sample im working on so far. yes, i have finished two reviews already =]

Don Valley Brickworks

sorry about the late update, and the disappearance of me. i am still alive =) a while ago, me, anthony and shervin went on a little urban exploration at the brickworks. tres' fun, and very spooky. just entering, it's so quiet and dark. it was raining too, so all you hear is trickling water. brrrr.

here are the highlights.

A planned UE is happening on tuesday, we're going in the morning to catch light rays, hopefully it'll be beautiful =) also, we are going in with gas mask respirators. you'kno, for the abestos and silica, don't wanna breathe in that shit again -_-

1st Panorama!

While we were coming back from picking up sis from work, we all saw this wonderful sky. im like OMGGG, the second i got home, grabbed my camera bag and a tripod and went along side Kennedy Rd. and quickly shot 4 shots of the scene, and stitched them together to make this big picture. I played with Photoshop until i got my desired effect. =)

EDIT: would like to dedicate this to Rebecca, as she is leaving to Taiwan very soon. Hope you will stay safe, and will have a wonderful time, we will all miss you dearly =)

For photography-literate people, I shot 4 pics of the scene, and autostitched it, and then tweaked the contrast a bit with PSCS2. Shot with:

got my new Nikkor 50mm 1.8 in the mail, and i went downtown for 3 days. yesterday i went on a walk down with a few people from tpmg.ca to Cherry St. which seems to be an industrial district by the waterfront. gave me a good chance to gain experience with the new glass and enjoy the scenes.

ONE MORE DAY.

ok here's a little rant i had in my mind today. so in this class, a guy on the table pulls out his wallet and shows the group a wad of 20's in his pocket. here's a little dialogue:

me: hey man, i don't think it's a good idea to carry that much in school.
him: what's gonna happen, someone gonna jump me? i have connections man! with the police AND the mafia!
me: well still, you can get robbed you'kno, not just jumped.
him: i'd like to see that happen.
me: well yea, you might drop money too.
him: doesn't matter, i can get more if that happens
me: people cry because they lose 5 bucks
him: I'D cry if i lost 5 bucks, then i'll go to the bank to get more
me: some people don't have banks to go to
him: well I have a bank, all that matters

end, well yea. i got pretty frustrated with him, it make seem like much, but i don't understand how INCONSIDERATE well-off people can be sometimes. they don't have a single clue about the value of a single dollar.

well enough of that, i took some nice pics with my new tripod. give you a little:

i FAIL

i went to the grease musical last night, and brought along my Oly, wanted to test out my paparazzi skillZ! but i terribly fail. i took over 220 pictures, and yet i cannot post any of them! my zoom is not telephoto, i have no flash, and i have high noise high ISO, so my shutter speed was high = CAMERA SHAKE. all pictures were too blurry. i shall post two pictures that i have took experimentally.

btw, can't wait until music banquet, although Oly will not be tagging along, too much of a risk =p

hello everyone, this is the beginning of my little journey with my new d-SLR.

umm, that's about it. memory card, body, and a lens. i hope to expand this set of equips when my there's a bit more disposible income. here's a shot i took this morning when i woke up.
